Information overload!
Here are a few examples of how to get a lot of information to students at little cost when it comes to printing. You can draw their attention with a couple colorful pics and then inundate them with useful information. Even when no picture is used or one that is abstract, the use of multiple colors can draw the eye. Still, we do not want to over stimulate the senses so color schemes should stick to a couple primary colors.
